We, as males, have been socialized since boyhood in this culture to deny and repress vulnerable emotions like fear, hurt, sadness and grief. But as you may be aware, the unacknowledged and unhealed pain associated with these feelings doesn't go away. It frequently manifests later in life as physical illness, stress, anxiety, depression, emotional numbness and addiction (food, sex, substance, work, gambling, etc.) or as defensiveness, control, withdrawal or anger in the context of relationship. This unacknowledged and unhealed pain can also lead to isolation, low self-esteem and feelings of hopelesness or cynicism.

In my counseling and psychotherapy work with men, I create a very safe, totally non-judgmental space where you can open to your feelings. This is a dynamic, compassionate space where you can heal the pain and wounding of the past and become aware of the associated defenses and armoring which no longer serve you. This is a space where you can have the direct experience of being authentically you and of feeling more fully alive, whole, empowered, and loving towards yourself and others. If you wish further information, I would be happy to hear a little about your journey on the phone and give you an idea of how I would be able to help you.
